Nokia 6208 Classic full review

Addicted to S40 devices but still want to get the touch screen feature, but sadly there was no touch screen phone in the S40 series till Nokia 6208 Classic launched. Yes, that’s right; Nokia 6208 Classic is the first touch screen phone to be featured in the S40 series. The phone ranges in a reasonably comfortable price tag range and will be going to cost around 13K.

Some may feel that it’s a bit too costly but keeping an eye on all the features and phone specifications, the price is just right. Moreover it’s the launch price which is bound to get low in a month or so. May be that’s the right time to buy the phone if you think it’s costly right now. The looks of the phone are so stunning that you just can’t pass unnoticed. The glazing silver metallic finish, especially the back panel and the camera borders are just so cool.

Alright it’s a touch screen but still it also has a alphanumeric keyboard. Was there actually a need for this, why waste so much space. I could spot 2 basic reasons for this. May be they wanted the users to give more ease in typing as they are used to it or if they you would have increased the screen size and removed the keypad, it would have been a costly option and the price tag would have shifted from mid range to high range.

Samsung's MEMS shutter could massively improve high megapixel cameraphones

We won't go so far as to say that SE and LG are waiting for this here technology to go commercial -- after all, we're still years (at best) away from that -- but considering that the ninth iteration of your favorite smartphone is likely destined to boast a 453 megapixel camera, we're thrilled to see someone working to make those captures worth looking at. Over in Japan, Sammy is teasing a new MEMS shutter that measures just 2.2 millimeters in diameter and would essentially allow cameraphones to grab blur-free images even with ultra-high megapixel sensors. Nokia N97 vs. LG Viewty Smart: Side By Side Comparison

LG released KC780 another 8 Megapixel camera phone

Watch out there Nokia, it looks like LG has its sights set on that high-end camera phone crown. While Nokia’s upcoming N96 is still stuck in 2007 with a 5 megapixel camera, companies like LG and Samsung are already turning up the heat. The mother load has still got to be the sexy KC910 but feast your eyes on what will be LG’s second 8 megapixel shooter, the KC780. Little is known about this peculiar looking two-tone slider but it was just dug out of an FCC document so we should be learning plenty more soon enough. Here are a few specs from the FCC files:

This phone combines the latest multimedia features and an intuitive user interface evolved far beyond what Viewty offered. With this phone LG has created a multi-sensorial experience like no other, providing enhanced viewing enjoyment, superior sound and better use of touch.











The LG-KC910 leads the industry with its 8 megapixel camera, which is being developed to include Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics, a xenon flash and ISO sensitivity up to 1600. Further strengthening the phone’s camera features are image stabilization, auto-focus, manual focus, Face Tracking, Smile Shot and blink detection. An embedded GPS receiver gives the LG-KC910 the ability to geo-tag photos for later plotting on an interactive map. A variety of creative shot modes, so far only found on standalone digital cameras, will be included.

LG Viewty 8MP phone gets official announcement

LG have announced the new LG-KC910, an update to the successful LG Viewty that features an 8 megapixel camera. It's not the first 8 megapixel camera to be announced, but the new LG comes with some stunning specs that in many ways blows the competition out of the water.

As you can see, the LG-KC910 (or LG Viewty II, as somepeople are calling it) is a touchscreen candybar phone featuring a user interface not dissimilar to that of the latest smartphones. Having a big analogue clock in the middle of a touchscreen seems de rigeur, these days, and the LG-KC910 is no different. Keeping up with the Samsungs, you could say!
More impressive, though, is the list of features. Just check this lot out:

The LG-KC910 is, quite clearly, LG's new flagship handset, and looks set to take on the Samsung Omnia and Nokia N96 head to head. Whether it'll succeed or not will be dependent largely on how well these features are implemented, as LG are renowned for making phones with a superb feature-set, but with a poor user interface, making the features almost impossible to use.
We'll only know once we get our grubby hands on one, but fortunately we won't have to wait too long - the LG-KC910 Viewty II release date is set for October 2008, so just over a month until we find out. Source...

We just got a heads up from one of our trusty sources, and they’ve come through with full PRADA II specs for us! In case you don’t remember, the new PRADA II handset will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard as pictured above. Here’s a rundown on the specs we got:

LG K910 the next version of LG Viewty

This one caught the lot of mobile enthusiasts, including us here at Unwired View, by surprise. Though we first reported about the possibility of LG rolling out a certain “K910″ with an 8MP camera a few months back, we never really thought LG would push through.

Well, apparently, they did. And now LG has just officially announced the LG K910, which is to be the LG Viewty’s 8 megapixel successor. But aside from its gargantuan-megapixel camera module, what else does the K910 really have to offer?
The 8 megapixel camera on the LG K910 won’t go to waste with its built-in Xenon flash, Schneider-Kreuznach optics, Face Tracking, Smile Shot and blink detection technology. That’s already a lot of features right there, but there’s still much we haven’t discussed yet.

It can play DivX and Xvid movies out of the box on its 3-inch WQVGA full touchscreen LCD, as well as deliver incredible sound with the help of Dolby Mobile.

Finally, with the LG KC910, users should be able to enjoy up to 7.2Mbps downloads with HSDPA connectivity, and easily find their way to wherever they’re going with its A-GPS enabled navigation feature.

Motorola released the latest MotoZine ZN5 with 5 MP Camera

Motorola today launched a new camera phone, the MotoZine ZN5 in India on Wednesday.The mobile phone combines Motorola’s ModeShift Technology and Kodak Imaging Technology, which enhances the quality, convenience, and connectivity of mobile imaging devices. Then, Sony Ericsson’s Cyber-Shot series has got more competition now. The ZN5 comes with a Xenon flash. It has a 2.4-inch TFT display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and 256k colors. With regard to connectivity the handset supports Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth with A2DP and USB v2.0. Memory can be expanded via microSD cards. It comes with a TV out feature and a 3.5mm earphone socket. The handset also features Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology.

The phone has multiple capture modes like multi-shot and panorama.Photographs captured with the ZN5 can be accessed through one-touch on the phone’s home screen. Further, users can upload their photographs via a Gallery Link at the Kodak gallery to share them with other people. Photographs can also be transferred to a computer via USB or Bluetooth as well as printed wirelessly on Bluetooth-compatible Kodak printers and at Kodak picture kiosks. Consumers can transfer pictures and also share pictures on their television set with a TV-out cable. It also has a provision to add 4GB of optional external memory. Consumers can download more wallpapers from MOTOMUSIC, a service that allows consumers to download full songs, ring tones, music video clips and wallpapers. LG officially announced its KC910 latest 8-megapixel camer phone

LG just officially announced to us the successor of the Viewty, the KC910. It is an all-in-one multimedia phone, sporting 8-megapixel camera, Dolby sound for music, and DivX and XviD support for video playback. At 14mm thickness, LG announces the KC910 as the slimmest 8MP phone on the market. It has Xenon flash, Schneider-Kreuznach lens, ISO up to 1600 and can capture video in VGA resolution at 30fps and in QVGA at up to 120fps for slow motion effect. Thanks to a built-in GPS, the photos can be geo tagged with the coordinates of the place they are taken at.

Other camera features include option for manual focus, face, smile and blink detection and digital image stabilizer. The KC910 is a quad-band GSM with support for HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, has Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, microSD slot for up to 8GB of memory, 3-inch WQVGA 240x400 touch display and TV-out for watching images or videos on larger screen. There is no information if it will run on the same interface as the Viewty and the KF700, or on a new one. LG says that it will come to the market in October of this year.

Samsung T919 Tocco for T-Mobile

According to TmoNews, T-Mobile is going to launch in the America the Samsung T919, aka Tocco/Roxy. The Samsung T919 Tocco is a modified version of Samsung’s F480/TouchWiz F488.

Samsung i8510 INNOV8 Reviewed

It looks like the Samsung i8510 INNOV8 phone has already gotten a review over at mobile-review. Samsung’s latest baby features an 8 megapixel camera capable of snapping pictures up to 3264x2448 resolutions, and also has face detection and smile detection, though the minor downside is that it only sports a LED flash. Having said that, based on the review, the lack of a proper flash doesn’t diminish its credentials as a good camera phone. It looks like the Samsung i8510 will look to give Sony Ericsson’s Cyber-shot series a good run for its money. Source...

Nokia N85 Passes FCC Tests

The FCC has just approved of Nokia’s upcoming N85, which would mean that it should be hitting retail stores sometime in the near future. Funnily enough, the N85 is supposed to be the successor of the N96, though nobody is too sure why Nokia is working the numbers backwards. Though there currently isn’t a price tag on the phone yet, there is a feature list:

Nokia N96 May be Landing October 1st

It seems as though it has taken forever but word on the street is that the successor to the Nokia flagship Nseries throne is set to drop on October 1. The rumor surrounds a UK release mind you, but Nokia has been pretty good lately in terms of making its handsets available in various regions at around the same time. We’re sure you know all there is to know about the N96 but just in case you need a refresher, it’s a beast. 16 GB of internal memory, microSDHC support for another 16 GB, sexy dual-slide form factor with a built-in kickstand for media consumption, signature 5 megapixel Zeiss camera with dual LED flash and so on. There is no word yet on an official US price point but we know early pricing in other regions translated to a tag up around $1,200. Clearly the actual US pricing will be significantly lower; at least it will be if Nokia intends to sell any on this side of the pond. We can’t imagine a better successor to the throne currently occupied by the N95 8GB. Well, except for the Samsung Innov8 maybe. Source...
