Nokia Royal phone comes with 1160 diamonds and 8 platinum screws

Those of you in need of a special Nokia Carbon Arte should be happy to find out that a so-called Nokia Royal will soon be launched.

The Royal resembles the Carbon Arte, but brings more luxury to the table. It’s not covered in carbon, but in solid platinum fixed with 8 handmade platinum screws.

On the sides, Nokia Royal host around 1160 tiny diamonds that totalize about 8.2 carats. And to make it all even more luxurious, the handset comes in a handmade box built from granite and leather.

If you ask me, the phone doesn’t look that good. But hey, it’s not the first and certainly not the last luxury device that’s not as beautiful as its makers want us to believe it is.

The Royal is crafted in the UK by Goldstriker’s Stuart and Katherine Hughes. Only 50 units of it will be created. And, although its price is not known yet, it will surely be an extremely high one.

The new luxury Nokia is set to be launched on January 31, at the Colette boutique in Paris. Interested customers will be able to buy it directly from there, as well as online, via Stuart and Katherine Hughes’ website (a weird sound plays after you access it, by the way). Source...d

The new Motorola ZN300 will come equipped with 3 megapixel camera, QVGA display and Opera Mini mobile browser.
Well, that’s about all we know about ZN300. But we also got confirmation about another Motorola handset in their QA line.Source...

VEVA S60 - luxury handset from China

Guess we’ve missed this, but it was just recently when we caught Qiao Xing Mobile’s press release announcing that its VEVA S60 luxury handset has achieved a great success.

The device was originally released in May of this year, and during the second quarter the company has sold nearly 100,000 units. Qiao Xing plans to sell 300,000 units in Q3 2008 and somehow we think they’ll succeed. The reason is simple - the VEVA S60 is made through cooperation with Swarovski, and each phone is decorated with 129 Swarovski crystal mosaic and 18K gold coating. All this could be yours for mere $290!

And that’s not all. The fact that VEVA S60’s gross margin was 61% inspired Qiao Xing to build speciality retails stores in up-market shopping malls to “offer one-stop solution and VIP services for its VEVA customers.”

I’m glad to see Chinese handset makers going beyond cloning. However, I could add that the “S60″ part of the name does sound confusing for all the Symbian fans out there who may’ve hoped there’s Nokia’s software platform running under the hood…

Full releases are available from these two links, and here’s the VEVA S60’s page on Qiao Xing Mobile’s website. Source...

"I Am Rich" iPhone App

The latest hot iPhone application that has caught everyone's attention is the "I Am Rich" app by developer Armin Heinrich. The app costs $999.99 and displays a glowing ruby-like light. and the words I Am Rich. Open it and it will load which Heinrich calls a secret mantra that may help you you to "stay rich, healthy, and successful." Ridiculous? Certainly, but rather clever too and subtler than having Amosu hook you up with a diamond or gold-covered iPhone.

Technologizer is conducting a poll on whether or not the app should be pulled from the App store. So far it looks like most are in favor of keeping it.Source...

Christian Dior’s Dior Mini walks the FCC runway

If you think you could use a lesson in spending your money wisely, have a look at the recently FCC-approved Dior Mini clamshell phone from Christian Dior. It has all the inner workings of a mid-to-low-end cellphone, doesn’t have an elegant-enough design, and yet the manufacturer looks ready to charge at least a couple thousand dollars for it.

To retail for $5,000, you’d think they’d go through the trouble of making this cellphone water-proof, shock-proof, or ridicule-proof, at least. But no, adding even more insult to any potential buyer’s injury, the Dior Mini doesn’t look like the special handset it’s marketed to be.

And as everyone is complaining about how the iPhone is ridiculously high-priced at $500, I think it’s safe to say that no one has heard of this phone yet.

In any case, this handset will soon be on its way to willing victims, but if I want any phone to be on the “Will It Blend?” show more than anything, it would definitely be this. Agree? Source...

Tag Heuer Meridiist earns FCC seal of approval

Tag Heuer is looking to apply its signature luxurious design in a new mobile phone that’s just been recently approved by the FCC. It’s going to be called the Tag Heuer Meridiist, and if you’re an avid follower of luxury handsets, I’m sure you have already heard of it.

The materials used to build the Tag Heuer Meridiist varies between metal, leather and sapphire crystal. Specifically, the display is made of scratch-proof sapphire crystal, which would eliminate the need for third-party screen protectors.

The said sapphire crystal display only measures 1.9-inches and has QVGA resolution, but that should be enough for casual cellphone users. A secondary OLED screen is also present up top to show various status indicators of the phone.

It doesn’t offer much of a fight when it comes to multimedia, but at least its 2 megapixel camera has a sliding lens cover. That would again prevent the phone from acquiring so much as a tiny scratch, but then again if you’re going to pay over a thousand dollars for a phone, you’d expect nothing less.

Expect official release date, market availability, and pricing announcement to be made soon. Source...

Sony Ericsson French Luxury concept

Source of inspiration for mobile phone design is very wide, many of the world's famous buildings of the design elements have been applied to a mobile phone, but called the French Luxury like this the Sony Ericsson mobile phone concept and the practice is rare. The first thing you see it would certainly think that this model is the miniature version of the Eiffel Tower in France, is precisely because of its unique design style, but also help them become a force can not stand in the horizontal surface of the phone, models in France to mark the Independence Day. The French Luxury phones with a slightly lower angle of the screen, with speakers on both sides of the fuselage. It not only has the strange appearance, but also features a 7.2 million-pixel camera. Nokia E71 gets golden with Goldstriker for $1,100

Ah, luxury. The most prominent symbol of which these days appears to be, if not diamonds, 24 k’s of gold. And how are mere mortals to resist when that golden mixture gets poured on to one of the latest and greatest (albeit petite) QWERTY smartphones to come out of Nokia’s labs? Surely no one…

That’s why Goldstriker is now offering the Nokia E71 in its 24ct Gold Edition for only $1,100. I’m sure someone out there will find this “worth it.” Or is it? The Nokia E71 is wrapped in a fine metallic casing by default, which does a great job at reflecting the light, making it look expensive, and yet avoid any scratches.

But for those who want to experience (or at least show people that they do) the “finer things” in life, the Nokia E71 24ct Gold Edition just might be the one for you. Source...

Have way too much money? Buy a Dior phone!

If you’re on the market for a phone that costs more than a down payment on a Honda and does nothing other phones can’t, luxury clothing retailer Christian Dior has the phone for you!

Jumping on the mobile bandwagon with rival luxury lines Prada, TAG Heuer, and Dolce & Gabana , Dior has announced their own cellular offering. With the base price of the phone set at around $5,500 bucks, I’m willing to wager we won’t be getting a review unit.

What does $5,500 bucks get you? The device’s touchscreen and camera certainly don’t cost that much, so what’s the killer feature? Surely, it must do something incredible. Something other phones simply can’t. Get this: It comes with a second, miniature phone. This mini-phone, branded My Dior, connects to the main phone in case it’s ever just out of reach. Revolutionary! You can answer and receive calls with — Oh, wait. That’s just a bluetooth headset that you can’t wear.

Nokia's Phone Has Found Enlightenment

While some people strive to find enlightenment, a modified phone of Nokia’s already has! Covered in shiny gold coloring, and with a curvy numpad layout, this phone is probably as unique as it gets, though bordering on becoming Buddhist bling. To add to the Buddhist effect, there is a Buddha on the back cover. The custom wallpapers and ringtones add to the overall Buddhist effect.
