Play Hundreds of Mobile Games on the go for free

We touched this subject before like when we wrote about the deal behind the battlefield free online game at the beginning of 2008. We were discussing about a new free online version of this video game available for free, being supported by advertising and micro payments.
Free online games supported by in-game ads is a smart idea and is really working without bothering gamers during the gameplay. Now we have another alternative launched a few days ago by 123play, which became the Europe’s best source of free mobile gaming available in UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
123play is provided by Mobile Advertising Solution for mobile handsets, and users can choose from 800 different games to download and play on the go. The advertising appears when the game is launched and after the gaming ends, so users can click on one of the 2 ads if they like and land on mobile websites. In addition, if you play the same game several times a day you’ll see the ads only the first time you launch it, and if you are willing to pay a small amount of money all games become 100% free, with no ads.
You have games available from the most famous creators such as THQ Wireless, RealArcade, Vivendi Games Mobile and Hands-On Mobile, all supported by more than 800 mobile handset models.
“With today’s launch we’ve made the best mobile games even better – by making them free for anyone to download” said Markus Ramark, CEO of 123play.com “There’s no other service out there that brings together great games and advertising from leading brands, wraps them together, and makes it as easy as 1, 2, 3 to play.” Source...

Download Free Sudoku game for s60 phones

Dictionary v.2.6 is mobile based dictionary and works on all j2me phones ( java mobile phones ). Dictionary has a reasonably good database but the vocabulary is not so good. But considering the fact that this dictionary is very small even less than 1mb and most of the other dictionaries available are around 5mb, this dictionary is a very good general purpose dictionary. What makes this dictionary good is its searching feature which directs you to the matching words as soon as you start typing in.

Basic description of dictionary is as follows:

1. The first thing you will see after running the it is a really nice and bright startup screen showing you three options namely start, help and about me. The help file associated with the dictionary is also quiet good and reasonably well explained.

2. After you have clicked the start button, what you will see is another bright display showing a search bar and the meaning of the first word in dictionary database starting with letter a.

3. To start searching just type in the word you want and its intelligent search function will take you to the word you want.

4. What’s good is that suppose you have forgot the exact the word and just remember the letter with which the word began, then you can just type in that word and them you can scroll through all the words that begin with that letter and you can easily select the word you want.

5. The dictionary shows the meaning along with the abbreviations such as n for noun, v for verb and adj for adjective which helps you in understanding the meaning of the word better

Despite the dictionary being so good you will always feel the need of more words and a better vocabulary. The functionality of dictionary is quite fast but the speed is a tradeoff at the cost of database.

First games announced for Android

If the announcement of the iPhone SDK, many video game developers announced their intention to offer mobile games for this, the thing with Android will not be too different.

Glu and Namco have been the first to announce the launch of games for Android. In the case of Namco will do so with a traditional title, Pacman, to revive once more in portable platforms.

Glu, in contrast, has announced a completely new title, Bonsai Blast, with reminiscences of Puzzle Bubble and Zuma, which will have to collect colored balls to clear the screen. This game will use both the touch screen as the phone's accelerometer to control its functionality.

This probably is just as the first of a series of announcements of new applications, although many developers will wait first to see the market success of the terminals with Android before placing a bet with force by this platform. Since then Apple has gone well you play, we'll see if Google is able to repeat that success.

Apple iPhone 3G gaming better than PSP and Nintendo DS?

If you are an iPhone 3G-er then you probably know just how powerful the iPhone is at web surfing, media, and gaming. Apple has paired a powerful set of processors which graphic acceleration tech along with its multi-touch display, which makes the iPhone 3G ideal for mobile gaming. mobilecrunch.com

In fact, the iPhone 3G is so good for mobile gaming that according to a report on mobilecrunch.com, John Carmack, he of Quake fame, went on record as saying: “The iPhone is more powerful than a Nintendo DS and PSP combined.”

Apparently, Carmack also when on to compare the Apple iPhone 3G as a gaming platform to that of the SEGA Dreamcast gaming console, and was also comparable to Microsoft’s Xbox and the Sony PlayStation 2.

Huge statements coming from the co-founder of id, the creators of the more hardware intensive gaming titles available today.

Carmack also says Apple needs to seriously look at their stance on iPhone gaming as they aren’t always helpful to game developers like id, who are looking to make “game changing” software for the Apple iPhone. Source...

iPhone games: aMaze

Simiotica has released a new game for the iPhone called aMaze. In it, you guide a small iron ball through a series of mazes to a certain point. Once you reach it, you will progress to another level. The physics engine employs the use of acidometer, so you guide the ball by tilting the device. If you have ever played the original Labyrinth you will understand.

The game features over 70 levels of varying difficulty from very easy to, well truthfully impossible to pass.

“Large multi-touch screen, OpenGL ES and OpenAL support, built-in accelerometers make iPhone most powerful mobile gaming device on the market. We have developed aMaze to meet expectation of the iPhone owners for games with innovative gameplay not yet possible with other devices. While awaiting the launch of the official AppStore, we make it available through the Istaller.App to let iPhone enthusiasts enjoy it as early as possible”, explains Alex Dubov, Simiotica CMO.

To play the game now you will need to have an unlocked iPhone. It will then be available in the latest version of Installer.app. Once app store launches it should be available from there as well.

The game features 10 free levels, and for the other 60 you have to pay $9 USD.

Harry Potter the Half Blood Prince goes mobile

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is coming to your mobile handset via EA Mobile games, and based on the wizard blockbuster movie. The mobile game release is to coincide with Harry potter and the Half Blood Price hitting cinemas in autumn, and is to bring tons of gaming fun to fans of Harry’s wizard ways and gamers alike.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price mobile game sees Harry in his sixth year at Hogwarts, and indulges in a mixture of potion brewing activities, Quidditch, and wizard duels, there’s even Ron Weasley’s romantic entanglements, not quite sure just how Ron’s entanglements fits in with the fun thing, but there you go.

Well that’s your lot, as details are quite scares obviously with it being Potter, but with the release date being quite a way off I’m sure more will come to light before then, and if it does we’ll keep you notified.

Reset Generation: N-Gage mobile's new flagship

N-Gage hasn't really been a successful gaming console... first launched as a cell phone/Game Boy like device in 2003. than moved to be a feature on Nokia's N-series smart phones, there's a reason this is probably the first your hearing of it.

But Nokia is betting that Reset Generation is the mobile game that changes all of that. Based on much more popular video game characters Nokia didn't want to pay the rights for, Reset Generation is a parody/puzzle game. You play analogs of such favorites like Mario, Link, and Sonic the Hedghog, 12 different characters in all, as they all try to rescue their own personal princess before someone does:

"Each round of play has three phases: placing blocks, firing cannons, and moving/fighting characters. Placing blocks takes the form of laying down some very familiar tetrominoes, which can only be laid on the game board in empty spaces — making it tough to place blocks once things start to fill up. When a player has claimed spaces on the board in this fashion, they gain considerable advantages; a character will move faster over his own color, and has higher attack/defense while standing on his own squares."

The most interesting aspect as far as I'm concerned though is the marketing of Reset Generation. Rather than just sell it as a mobile game, Nokia is offering an online PC version for free that will take user input on the characters and gradually change what they say and how they act; an aspect Nokia is hoping will give RG both an initial promotional push, and longevity with fresh user-generated content.

nokia n70 igre download

Where can you find mobile igre (Croatian for games) for your Nokia n70?

I'd recommend Zedge which has 718 mobile games you can download specifically on the Nokia n70; though it is ad supported.

I tried it with the game Funky Monkey in Funky Monkeyland because I empathized with a main character that's actually as hairy as me.

All it took was downloading the igre/game directly to my laptop. From there I just had to transfer it to the Nokia n70 and could begin playing all the monkey goodness. You can check out other nokia n70 igre here, though as I said before remember that your phone's data connection will download new ads every 4-5 times played.

Jeopardy Mobile - greatest game ever

For my money the best game show of all time is Jeopardy. Seriously, I'm one of those people who bark answers nervously at the screen, scold myself for every wrong answer I should have known, and get seriously annoyed when the half hour is up, and I have to wait another 23 and a half hours to try for the perfect game.

Which is why finding Jeopardy Mobile is an enabling nightmare godsent. Finally I can play for as long as I want without having to listen to that irrelevant segment when the contestants talk about themselves.

I don't care about your inane hobby, just get to the damn questions!

Anyway, as for the mobile version, it has the exact features you'd expected it to have, plus fresh daily content in the Category of the Day mode. The biggest downside of the game is Sony won't just give you a straight answer on what it costs to download.

You can check out what I'm talking about for yourself here.

Lab Rat Mouse game for iPhone

Lab Rat Maze is a fun little game where you guard a mouse in a series of mazes to get to a cheese. Sounds simple? The problem is that you only see 9 titles o screen from a huge maze. At first, it is quite basic, but the mazes get harder and harder each time. Have fun satisfying your hunger.

I-play Bowling to bring Wii-like experience to mobile phones

We're seeing a trend here — if there's an accelerometer built inside a mobile phone, let's use it. With their I-Play Bowling title, the mobile games publisher wants to deliver the Wii-like bowling experience to mobile phone users. Not that the game won't work with ordinary handsets, on the contrary. However, if you happen to have the Sony Ericsson K850i or W910i which sport the accelerometer, man you're gonna enjoy some bowling experience, while on the go.
There are three tournaments to compete in and nine other characters to beat…

Prison Break Mobile Game Preview

I've never really gotten how Prison Break has managed to stay on the air so long; I mean how many different times can you break out of prison before the plot becomes repetetive?

But at least within the do-over structure of video games that repetition finally makes sense.

Vivendi Games Mobile's Prison Break game comes out in June and follows series lead Michael Scofield as he tried to... ok you probably already figured that part out. But you get to interact with 10 different characters over 36 different maps and 12 different environments.

Anyway here's the first screen captures from the Prison Break Mobile Game. You can view the rest here.

EA releases 5 new games for Mobile

The Sims 2 Castaway
The Sims Pool
Monopoly Here & Now
Yahtzee Adventures
Merv Griffin’s Crosswords

Granted, this isn’t the most exciting of news, so I moseyed on over to the EA Mobile site to take a look around. It brought up a few things in my mind:
EA own my favourite Mobile game of all time - Tetris - the ultimate spare time killer!
EA have mobilised quite a fair share of their Console catalogue - albeit the names are there, but the versions of game are quite rudimentary compared to their console cousins
EA also has DOOM!
EA own JAMDAT

It’s going to be very interesting to see, with the advent of the games powerhouse that is N-Gage, how EA interwork with it - between N-Gage and EA, I would suggest there is the potential for some extremely good games - genuinely compelling, but still with that all-important “dip in, dip out” feature. Give me Rainbow Six Las Vegas 2 on my N95 and I’ll be a happy man!

Picasa Web Albums for Windows Mobile

On December,Google releasing the iPhone-optimized version of its Picasa Web Albums service. Now they’ve decided to Windows Mobile devices.

At the moment, they are talking about touchscreen-enabled WinMo 6 devices only, but soon, I guess, users with the non-touchscreen (Standard Edition) devices will be able to use the service as well.

Important thing to note is that Picasa Web Albums works with recently announced Google Gears for Windows Mobile, giving you an option to view selected albums offline.
In addition, Gears also lets you add a Picasa icon to your Program Files folder so you can access your photos even faster.

Want to give it a try? Simply point WinMo’s Internet Explorer to picasaweb.google.com and take it from there.
