New pictures of the LG enV3 and LG enV Touch

With the new Verizon Rebate Form listing the LG enV3, everyone is hoping that it will be out soon. We've seen a few images of the Slate Blue enV3 in the past, but now we have a picture of the Maroon version. There are also two images showing the inside of the LG enV3 and LG enV Touch and what their internal Main Menu will look like.

The LG enV3 will feature a 3MP camera with LED flash, QWERTY keyboard, 2.5mm headset jack, larger external display, QVGA internal display, stereo speakers, Bluetooth and microSD support.

The LG enV Touch will have two WVGA displays, with the external one being touch-sensitive, 3MP autofocus camera with LED flash and Schneider Kreuznach lens, QWERTY keyboard, 3.5mm headset jack, stereo speakers, Bluetooth, and microSD support. VCast Mobile TV (MediaFLO) is no longer included.

Verizon to release latest Samsung Sway Ultra-slim phone

Verizon Wireless’ line-up of music phones has just been enlarged today, with the addition of Samsung Sway.
The phone is a slider that looks pretty and has a thickness of only 0.47 inches. This means a bit less than 12 millimeters, and I don’t think there are too many sliders to beat that.
Due to its rather fragile appearance and its slimness, Samsung Sway will probably be more popular among girls and women (yes, we like our phones to be thin). But this can’t upset Verizon or Samsung, as long as the phone’s sales will be good, right?

Here’s what the full-specs list of Samsung Sway includes:
2.2 inches TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels, 262K colors
Music Player
V CAST Music with Rhapsody for access to more than 5 million songs
Stereo Bluetooth, USB
VZ Navigator
2.0 MP camera with night shot mode, video
Mobile Web 2.0 capable
Instant Messaging, text, picture and video messaging
MicroSD card support, up to 8GB
270 minutes of talk-time, 312 hours of stand-by time
weighs 3.56 ounces
measures 4.15 x 1.96 x 0.47 inches
Samsung Sway will cost you $69.99 after the signing of a 2-yr agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate. You can also buy the phone with a 1-yr contract, for $139.99, or with a month-to-month contract, for $239.99. Source...

Verizon wireless to offer Motorola's latest Moto Krave ZN4 and VU204

So far Verizon has released 4 touchscreen phones: LG Voyager in Black and Titanium, LG Dare, and Samsung Glyde. Now Motorola is the last to enter the Arena with the Krave ZN4, which we first heard about in July. It is Ming-styled, with a clear plastic flip over the touchscreen that houses the earpiece speaker. Other features include a 2MP camera, VCast Mobile TV (MediaFLO), HTML browser, EVDO Rev A, Bluetooth, microSDHC memory card slot, and a microUSB port. Pricing will be $149, after a $50 rebate with a 2-year contract.
Meanwhile, the VU204 will be a basic flip phone, under the mid-level W755 and higher-end VU30, and will only have a standard VGA camera, 160x120 display, and Bluetooth. Pricing will be $29 after a $50 rebate with a 2-year contract, and will be be marketed as "Buy 1, Get 3 free". The actual release dates of both devices are unknown, but are expected to be out by the end of 2008.

*UPDATE* The Krave ZN4 will be released on Oct 14th. Pricing is $149 (after $50 rebate) with a 2-year contract, $219 (after $50 rebate) with a 1-year contract, and $349 for those who have fear of commitment.

Blackberry Storm , now its official

We told you it was coming (a day late but not a dollar short) and now it’s officially here! The Blackberry Storm has officially gone live on Verizon’s website for all to see in its glory. No other information about the handset. Just a pretty picture of the shiny, new touchscreen ‘Berry. But we’re still holding firm on our “about one week after November 1st” launch time frame, as told to us by multiple sources. Source...

Verizon wireless to bring the latest Samsung Knack

Verizon will be releasing the Samsung Knack in stores on October 14th. The Samsung Knack sure doesn’t have your average keypad, with dedicated keys for 911 and ICE (In Case of Emergency) it sure looks like its focusing on emergencies. The port covers on the side also sport the colors of the American flag, with blue, red and white colored covers. The phone will be going for $39.99 if tied with a two-year contract. Source...

List of upcoming Motorola, Samsung, LG phones from Verizon leaked

Thanks to the diligent work of one of our ninjas, we’ve come into contact with a new Verizon rebate sheet. While it does reveal a couple of goodies, the sad truth is that there’s not a whole lot of substance on here. No mention of the Blackberry Storm Thunder Storm, HTC Touch Diamond/Pro, or anything else to get us too excited. What you should be able to find in the next month, however, are the following new phones available from your friendly neighborhood Verizon dealer:

  • Motorola Krave ZN4 in lovely Titanium
  • Samsung Sway, a.k.a the Samsung SCH-u650. A 2 megapixel Bluetooth-equipped slider
  • Samsung Knack
  • LG VX8360, a middle-of-the-road flip phone
  • LG VX5500, another low-end Bluetooth-equipped handset

Excited? Yeah, we didn’t think so. While rebate sheets are never the end-all, be-all of handset release info, we’re not exactly feeling a lot of inspiration from big V’s upcoming release plans. Then again, there might be more surprises in store come September. Hit the jump for the rest of the rebate sheet!

Thanks, Harris! Source...

Now Verizon XV6800 works on Windows Mobile 6.1

Windows Mobile 6.1 looks like it’s making its way to Windows Mobile powered phones all around, and next up in line is Verizon’s XV6800. The latest ROM for the XV6800 adds the usual benefits of Windows Mobile 6.1, such as threaded SMS, better battery life and some others. The bad news is that Verizon still insists on keeping the GPS functionality locked down, so you won’t be able to use any 3rd party navigation apps. Source...

New LG Voyager in Titanium from Verizon

Verizon Wireless and LG today added the cool looking LG Voyager Titanium phone into their portfolio of touch-screen phones. The Titanium Voyager doesn’t bring too many new things when compared to the old black one (which, by the way, is now out of stock). The main difference (besides the color) is that the new Voyager comes with Verizon’s Visual Voice Mail and V CAST Music with Rhapsody services pre-installed. “Boasting the same stylish dual-screen design and features of its predecessor in black, the Voyager in Titanium has a lustrous titanium finish and also supports two of the hottest services from Verizon Wireless - V CAST Music with Rhapsody and Visual Voice Mail”
Verizon Wireless customers can access a library of more than 5 million songs with V CAST Music with Rhapsody, purchase full songs over-the-air and download the master copy of the songs to their PCs free of digital rights management software. Customers can also sync favorite tracks, albums and playlists from their PCs to their Titanium Voyagers using the included USB cable. Also, it looks as if Verizon has dropped the Visual Voice Mail subscription price to $2.99 a month per line. Visual Voice Mail allows customers to better manage their messages on their new Voyagers. Customers can delete, reply and forward voice mail messages without having to listen to prior messages or voice instructions. Visual Voice Mail is the ideal tool for the busy mobile professional who may need to prioritize which messages he or she listens to first. This is good, but we still would much rather Verizon offer the visual voice mail without a monthly fee at all. The LG Voyager in Titanium is available at the same price for $149.99 after a $50 rebate and a new two-year contract. Source...

Verizon released its all new Blitz QWERTY smart phone

Verizon has just introduced the Blitz, a phone made primarily for messaging. Manufactured by UTStarcom, the Blitz has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a dedicated MyMessaging key that will lead you directly to the messaging menu. The Blitz is, in essence, an UTStarcom handset, although it has been provided with the marketing muscle of Verizon Wireless. The Blitz features a 2.2″ display, set in landscape orientation, with 220×176 pixel resolution.

The rest of the features that Verizon’s Blitz comes with include a 2.2 inch TFT display with 262K colors and 220 x 176 pixels, dual-band CDMA connectivity (800 / 1900 MHz), VZ Navigator with turn by turn directions, stereo Bluetooth, Music player, Playlist creator and manager, V CAST Music with Rhapsody, a 2.5mm audio jack, speakerphone (with a dedicated key) Mobile Web 2.0, email and Instant Messaging, Chaperone Child, SMS and MMS capabilities, Voice Mail, Hearing Aid compatibility, alarm clock, world clock, stopwatch, calendar, calculator, notepad and expandable memory (up to 4GB). Verizon Unveils Motorola Adventure V750

Verizon has released the Motorola Adventure V750 without too much fanfare. The V750 will be their first phone based on the QChat push-to-talk network, and will be using EV-DO Rev. A based cellular data to provide instant talk like Sprint’s iDEN service, but with the improved quality of the 3G network.
The V750 sports a rugged design with US military grade protection against dust, drops, temperature and water splashes. The adventure doesn’t have any groundbreaking features, what with its 2 megapixel camera, external music controls, microSD card expansion, support for Verizon’s new Rhapsody subscription access, and support for other services such as V CAST Video and turn-by-turn mapping via VZ Navigator. The V750 will be going for $100 along with a two-year contract. Source...

LG VX8350 – Verizon Wireless

Although LG has already entered into the range of super thin mobiles through their LG Shine and LG Chocolate it is designed with softer and curvier handsets in their array for those who are bored of the thin mobile phenomenon. The all new LG VX8350 is a similar mobile which is a great upgrade of their previous L VX8300. It has not only got rid of the short antenna but it is also much ergonomic and also offers MP3 playback and not like most of the Verizon mobiles it is also compatible of an excellent rage of Bluetooth handsets. The device is also rich in feature as it comes with support for EV-Do, megapixel camera and also access to the wide range of V Cast broadband content of Verizon.

The Design

The new LG VX8350 has been a great upgrade over the previous LG VX8300 as it does not include an antenna and is designed in a smooth and pebble like shape that has lavish curves all around. The entire design is much more ergonomic that the previous handset of LG as it holds a superior stylish and streamlined appearance. The outer screen of the mobile is also much developed over the previous LG VX 8300. This display shows you the time, date, signal strength, battery life and also the caller ID. The cell phone also acts like a self portrait mirror when you activate the camera. When you are using the music playback feature you can view the track information and album art on the external display. When you file open the phone you will find the 2.0 inch clear and bright diagonal internal display. The new LG VX8350 also uses a very easy to use keypad.

The features included in this new LG VX8350 are almost the same as that of their previous handsets but there are a few improvements. This handset offers you an excellent 1,000 phone book entry with space in each to enter five other contacts and two email addresses. You will find all the basic features in the device that include a speakerphone, multimedia and text messaging, vibrate mode, voice recording, instant messaging and other basic features found in other handsets. Press photos of Verizon’s LG Decoy leaked!

Well, well, well, what do we have here? So the LG VX8610, which we have been seeing for quite a while now, actually has its own alias after all, and it will be Decoy. That’s right, LG Decoy, as per Verizon and this lovely leaked press shot.

When will manufacturers and telcos ever learn? Don’t they know that giving away exclusive photos such as this will kill all the excitement and suspense in the handset’s official launch? OK, not really, but still, ah, forget it. We know you love this stuff anyway, and there’s more from where this came from.
The LG VX8610 “Decoy,” as we’ve learned, is a slider phone unlike any other. It features a Bluetooth headset - built-on, or should we say, built-out? It’s actually situated outside the handset casing, on top of the cellphone’s back side. It’s detachable and charges through a dock.

As we earlier reported, June could see the launch of this intruiging new handset, but don’t hate us if that doesn’t happen. Read again - because we said could, OK?

Alltell's HTC Touch Gets A New Color

The HTC Touch is one of the prettier smart phones in the market, especially amongst the Windows Mobile Professional bracket. That being the case, it’s probably been rather irritating for most users that only were able to have one color, chosen by their carrier. Colors include Black for Sprint, white for Verizon, and grey for Alltell. Alltell aims to change this by adding a burgundy color to its line.

Since the specifications don’t change, the phone is still priced the same, which is $129.99 with a two year contract.

When’s The Right Time To Buy Your Child A Cell Phone? Verizon Wireless Offers Helpful Tips For Parents In California

IRVINE, CA — At younger and younger ages, children are asking parents, “Can I have a cell phone?” No surprise then that seventy two percent of 13- to 17-year-olds have cell phones, according to a recent industry study.* Verizon Wireless offers tips for parents on the fence, starting with tweens’ and teens’ behavior.

“The first cell phone is a big responsibility for a young person” said John Palmer, regional president of Verizon Wireless. Palmer offered some key tips for parents thinking about buying a cell phone for a child:

1. Ask yourself if your child behaves responsibly at home. Are chores done when asked and is homework completed on time? If so, they may be ready for the responsibility of a cell phone.

2. Setting rules up front is key — By setting clear expectations about how and when to use their cell phone parents give children the tools to make good decisions. Guidelines for young new cell phone users could include:

a. Only answer calls or reply to text messages from people you know or have met in person

b. You must answer your phone if Mom or Dad calls, so they will always knows everything’s okay

c. Turn the phone off at a set time when you’re at home so family time is not interrupted and there’s no texting late into the night.

3. Prepay can be a good “first phone” option. It offers controls and INpulse from Verizon Wireless also enables rewards.

a. INpulse from Verizon Wireless allows parents to set the amount of money on the account and when it’s used up the phone can no longer make calls. Parents can add money to their child’s prepay account 24-hours per day from the phone, online, or in person at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and many other retail locations.

b. INpulse offers practice in money management. From the Settings and Tools menu screen on their Verizon Wireless phones, users can choose My Account and see their balances, find payment locations, make payments and view usage details.

c. INpulse offers the only pre-paid phones that can download music, so parents can reward responsible usage with music from the more than 3 million songs in the V CAST Music library. Teens can play their songs even if they’re out of minutes.

d. With INpulse, there’s no long-term commitment or credit check. INpulse Core, INpulse Plus and INpulse Power, charge customers a daily access fee that ranges from 99 cents to $2.99 only on the days of use and include Unlimited IN Calling to Verizon Wireless customers nationwide.

INpulse plans are available at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, including those in Circuit City, as well as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, CVS and many other retailers across Southern California.
