Nokia 6208 Classic full review

Addicted to S40 devices but still want to get the touch screen feature, but sadly there was no touch screen phone in the S40 series till Nokia 6208 Classic launched. Yes, that’s right; Nokia 6208 Classic is the first touch screen phone to be featured in the S40 series. The phone ranges in a reasonably comfortable price tag range and will be going to cost around 13K.

Some may feel that it’s a bit too costly but keeping an eye on all the features and phone specifications, the price is just right. Moreover it’s the launch price which is bound to get low in a month or so. May be that’s the right time to buy the phone if you think it’s costly right now. The looks of the phone are so stunning that you just can’t pass unnoticed. The glazing silver metallic finish, especially the back panel and the camera borders are just so cool.

Alright it’s a touch screen but still it also has a alphanumeric keyboard. Was there actually a need for this, why waste so much space. I could spot 2 basic reasons for this. May be they wanted the users to give more ease in typing as they are used to it or if they you would have increased the screen size and removed the keypad, it would have been a costly option and the price tag would have shifted from mid range to high range.

Let’s have a look at the phone specifications:

2.4-inch QVGA display (320 x 240) with Up to 16.7 million colours

Supports Email and Web browsing

3.2-megapixel camera with Dual LED flash and 8x digital zoom

TCP/IP support including EDGE and GPRS

microSD memory card slot, hot swap, max. 8 GB

Play music using the 3.5mm jack

Handy stylus glued at the back of phone

USB 2.0 or Bluetooth Connection

Tweets 60 For Symbian Mobile Phones - Free Twitter Client For Nokia Mobile Phones

I have already written about many twitter applications for symbian mobile phones and to the list of twitter applications, there is a new application called Tweets 60 which is currently in its beta stage and its full version is due to be launched shortly. Moreover the developers have also proposed to launch the same application for 3rd and the 5th edition mobile phones.

Features of Tweets 60

• Just like all the other mobile phone twitter application, you can post directly from mobile phone, it’s just the difference of GUI but the working and the functionality all remains the same.
• Now if I say posting tweets via mobile client is faster, that won’t be wrong at all. It always saves time when posting via client than using the mobile sites.

• There is another option of managing the people whom you are following but very seldom people use this feature. I don’t think anybody would delete the people they are following unless somebody is spamming.
• The developers have to say that the Tweets60 with basic functionality will always be free. However a newer version with more advanced features is also in development for which the users may have to shell out something.
• It is also advisable to install Tweets60 on your memory card rather than phone memory as the database will expand when you use it continuously.

Nokia 6790 Mako Hands On!

So check it… We just got our hands on Nokia’s 6790 (codenamed Mako) device — the freaky 3G sliding QWERTY headed for AT&T. There have been no live pictures of this bad boy so we went ahead and took a bunch. The phone itself is drastically different from what we’d expect from Nokia (just based on their design heritage) yet ridiculously lackluster. While most of you (us included) thought this would be a high-end device, our quick perusal dictates otherwise. It feels like it would fit right in with the Samsung Propels, LG Xenons and Pantec Matrixs of the world. That’s not to say this is anything final, the unit we have is obviously not a retail unit nor is the software it’s running finished either, but these are just the first impressions we’re getting.

The screen is pretty low-res and low quality as well. We’re not feeling the keyboard (the fact Nokia still doesn’t move the letter Z one space over is hilarious) and the unit itself screams low-end to be perfectly honest. Kind of a let down. Check out our photos of this mythical beast in our gallery, leave us any questions in the comments, and stay tuned for a review of this unit pretty soon!

N97 disassembled on video

Are you dying to see Nokia's latest, the N97 ripped to shreds in glorious moving pictures? Well, that's too bad: we don't have that. What we do have, however, is a series of photographs of said shred-ripping, turned into a video. A creepy, silent film, if you will, complete with subtitles. Lack of movement and sound aside, it gives us a pretty great look at the innards of the handset, if that's what you're into. Sure, it's not The Goldrush, but if you want to see the N97 in a talkie, there's always that Royksopp video, right? Click here for the video...

Nokia N97 NAM release date ?

The Nokia Blog's got it on good authority that the Finnish phone maker's giving its North America distributors the heads up to expect the N97 to arrive on June 2nd for $699, although that price might end up lower. We've been hearing an expected June launch for some time, so it's definitely not out of the question. This does, however, serve as both an exciting and somewhat painful reminder that, should a couple other rumors pan out, June's gonna be a busy month for smartphones.
