Nokia N96 to be released in India on September

The awesomely feature-packed and big-boned Nokia N96 is scheduled for a September release date for the good people of India. You can check out Nokia India’s official web site for info on the handset and even pre-book a unit ahead of official release.
As you are probably well aware, the Nokia N96 is the new flagship Nokia Nseries phone, and it combines many great features from the most popular Nseries handsets into a dual-sliding, long and thick form factor. It’s quite a looker and aside from that, the spec sheet can make mobile phone enthusiasts drool.

As a multimedia phone the Nokia N96 comes with a standard 3.5mm headphone port, FM Radio with RDS, Visual Radio, built-in music player, 3D stereo speakers and TV-out support.

Internal memory is tops at 16GB AND there’s an available microSD card slot that supports microSDHC cards (probably up to 32GB, though it’s not yet confirmed).

The Nokia N96 that will be released in India will come with a bunch of pre-loaded content, including the Bollywood movie Om Shanti Om, 50 music videos, music tracks in Hindi and English, as well as 3 N-Gage games with an unlimited license for Asphalt Urban GT 3.

And as if that’s not enough, it also comes with 3 months free navigation for Nokia Maps and pre-loaded maps of Singapore, UAE and India, of course.

And lets not forget that it also has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, albeit with only an LED flash instead of Xenon. We don’t know what Nokia was thinking, either.

The retail price is reported to be somewhere around Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 36,000 (somewhere around $730-$850). What, you didn’t think it would be cheap or something, did you? Source...
