Sony Ericsson’s upcoming G502 “Emelie” revealed

The Sony Ericsson G502, codenamed Emelie was originally rumored to get its official unveiling during this past CTIA, but that came and went without an announcement, until now that is. While this is an unofficial announcement, the folks over at the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog have decided to beat Sony Ericsson to the punch and show off Emelie a little early. The official announcement from Sony Ericsson is expected to come this Wednesday April 23, but until then lets review some of the details.

From the picture it appears to be a hot looking candybar style phone, but that aside the G502 will feature a 2-inch QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera with a 4x zoom and recording capability, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, USB 2.0, 32MB of internal memory with a Memory Stick Micro card slot for additional storage and is HSDPA-enabled. The G502 is expected to have Google Maps for Mobile and the Access NetFront web browser pre-installed and also have support for Exchange Activesync.

While the G502 is expected to be announced on April 23, the rumored availability is sometime during Q2 2008, no mention of any pricing details, I guess we will have to wait till Wednesday for that.
