Samsung introduces the SGH-i688, a touchscreen mobile phone that supports China’s 3G standard, TD-SCDMA (Time-Division Synchronous Code-Division Multiple Access). With the support for TD-SCDMA, the i688 is able to connect to the Wireless Olympic Works network for real-time schedules, results and other Olympic information.The Samsung SGH-i688 features a 2.8-inch 260k color touchscreen display, a 3 Megapixel camera, integrated media player, Bluetooth and microSD memory card slot. Other than TD-SCDMA, the i688 supports also tri-band GSM and EDGE.
