We’ve been hearing bits and pieces of info about upcoming Nokia N85 handset for a while now.
Heck, we probably already know what Nokia N85 looks like.
Still, the information about Nokia N85 specs or even it’s existence has been pretty scarce so far. And it’s pretty scarce still. But now, thanks to Mobile Royale, we at least have the confirmation that Nokia N85 handset does indeed exist and is nearing it’s launch date.
The first UAProfile for Nokia N85 - 1 has appeared on official Nokia site a few days ago. Today we have another UAProfile for Nokia N85-3 appear on the same site.
Yes, it seems that we may have a second version of Nokia N85 phone. And if the history with Nokia N95 is any guide, this should be a Nokia N85 NAM (North American) version. The specs that can be gleaned from both Nokia N85 profiles do not look too promising, but not too bad either.
They say that Nokia N85 will have the usual 320×240 px QVGA display, Symbian 9.3 with S60 3 FP2 interface, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Many who have checked the UAProfiles quickly concluded that Nokia N85 will have only 3.2 megapixel camera. But it is really too premature to base that only on the basis of UAProfs, especially when leaked pictures indicate 5mpx camera in Nokia N85.
It seems to me that the bit about the camera resolution comes from “MMS Characteristics” part of the UAProfile file, where it says that “MMSMaxImageResolution” is 2048×1536 px, which gives us ~3 megapixel resolution. But my guess is that it has more to do with something related to MMS, then with camera quality. Especially when Nokia N95, or N96, which we know have 5mpx cameras, feature exactly the same 2048×1536 resolutions in their MMS characteristics.
Well, it’s nice to engage in some speculation on such a thin info, but we’ll have to wait a bit more to see what Nokia has prepared for us this fall. Source...
