Today at CTIA 2008, Motorola unfolded its latest MOTOROKR-branded accessory, the EQ3 mobile speaker set. These neat speakers come in a small 130mm x 35mm x 35mm (5" x 1.4" x 1.4") package, but then the speakers swing out to offer a standalone sound package.The MOTOROKR EQ3 is powered by 4 AAA batteries and offers a standard 3.5mm audio plug for input. The speakers are compatible with any standard MP3 player, as well as any music-enabled cellphone offering a 3.5mm audio port. The speakers also sport an FM-optimized extension cable, so that handsets with FM radios can use the speakers as an antenna.
Motorola claims to get a whopping 12 hours of playback from a set of batteries, and the speakers are RF shielded to protect them against mobile phone interference. Pricing has not been revealed, but we can expect the MOTOROKR EQ3 to be available in Q2 2008.
