Nokia N96 Review: the specs

What’s the difference between Motorola and Nokia? When Motorola makes their best phone ever, they rest on their laurels and just kind of take the next five years off. Nokia on the other hand, they make their best phone ever in the form of the Nokia N95 and come right back this year with the upcoming Nokia N96.

Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress last month, a review of the Nokia N96’s specs reveals a multimedia behemoth. Apart from the 16GB tank of memory, the Nokia N96 offers such digital candy as a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics camera, DVD quality 30 frames a second video, viewable in formats including MPEG-4, Windows Media Video and Flash Video.

In selected models, the duel slider Nokia N96 will also come with a DVB-H TV tuner, so you can watch live TV on your cell phone. Be it live TV or a DVD quality movie, you should be able to see the images clearly on the 2.8-inch screen, and hands free, provided you take advantage of the back cover’s kick stand.

And if 16GB of storage space still isn’t enough for you, there’s a microSD card slot that can be optimized for up to 24GB of storage space. Um… when I was a kid entire classrooms of computers didn’t have the much space on them, but never mind.

Further Nokia N96 review finds that the model will also offer USB 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone connector, and internal 3D stereo speakers. There’s also WLAN and HSDPA support and Nokia Maps application with Assisted Global Positioning System.

A further Nokia N96 review will be available when the model is officially released during 2008’s third quarter in selected regions.
