Credo Mobile is offering a service over this upcoming Super Tuesday to text a reminder to their 20,000 members and supporters to get out and vote. They tout the success of their non-partisan mobile initiative, saying their own internal research shows that during the 2006 midterm elections, voters were 4% more likely to vote when receiving a mobile reminder.
I believe that figure is honest because frankly, it's not that impressive. What I take issue with is the assertion their "Mobilizing the Youth" campaign is really so non-partisan. Credo Mobile is subsidiary of Working Assets, which offers mobile, long distance and credit card services, and donates to a portion of their profits to such non profits, as Planned Parenthood, the Nation Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and Iraq War: Wrong Way. So far Working Assets has donated over 50 million dollars to their selective causes.
None of which I personally have a problem with, but all of which have a clear liberal agenda. Now how does that qualify Credo Mobile to pass themselves off as non-partisan?
Adding to the confusion, I found their press release on the FOX on Business website, meaning while FOX News might try to present a right wing bias, they’re clearly not doing enough research to have any kind of bias.
