Review: Motorola RAZR2 V9

V9 is the latest fashionable mixture of good looking cellphone and a high functionality one. V9 is the next in line after the RAZR V3, and definitely shows a progress in Motorola’s attitude as well as branding their handsets.

Motorola’s RAZR2 V9 offers a satisfying mix of classic features alongside new and innovative functions. Basic features on the V9 include Alarm Clock, World Clock, Calculator, Voice Messaging, Voice-Activated Dialing, Speakerphone, Calendar, Fixed and Service Dial Entries, Airplane Mode and Text Display in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese.

As for its higher-end features, the V9 is enabled for Motorola’s “MotoSync,” which can synchronize mobile email, phonebook and calendar to the personal computer and “See What I See,” which lets users to stream live video images to other wireless customers during a call.

User ratings have put the RAZR2 V9 at the top of its class within AT&T’s current wireless offerings for clear sound and reliable signals. One factor in the V9’s success is Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology, where call volume is automatically adjusted to cancel out background noises wherever they are.

For music lovers, the RAZR2 V9 can purchase and download tracks from AT&T Music service or upload existing MP3s from a personal computer. Users also have the option of downloading additional songs from the digital music libraries of Napster and Yahoo! Music.

While audio from the phone’s digital music player is good, it is likely to sound better using stereo headphones. The V9 is capable of reading MP3, WMA, eAAC+, Real, and WAV song files. Volume on the phone can be adjusted up to seven levels.

The RAZR2 V9 also runs on AT&T Mobile Music, allowing customers to browse, purchase and download full-track songs from a catalog of more than 5 million tracks, including content from all major labels. Users will instantly receive copies of purchased tracks on both the wireless phone and their PC.
The RAZR2 V9 is a quad-band world phone which operates on all four major cellular frequencies (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) for enhanced call quality and fewer dropped calls. The 950 mAh Li-Ion battery provides up to 3.4 hours of talk time and 12 days of standby time, according to Motorola.

To sum things up, noteworthy features of the RAZR2 V9 include two amply-sized LCD screens, an MP3 player with touch-sensitive, vibrating control keys; a 2.0-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom; micro-USB connectivity, an external memory card slot and Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology. A very impressive device indeed!
