If you’re one of the lucky few that has managed to get your hands on a new iPhone 3G, you’ve probably noticed that the backup process for the new handsets is taking a whole lot longer than it used to. Many of us have been speculating that the time increase is due to the new applications, which are considerably bigger and more complex than any content that has been previously backed up by iTunes prior to the release of Firmware 2.0. While the apps are certainly part of the problem, it also seems that the crash reports that iTunes sends to Apple every time you perform a backup.
