Oh, how we wish this were possible. The video in the link is a user-created mockup of how copy-and-paste should work on the iPhone, using the magnifying loupe and a second-finger tap. There have been so many times where I have been frustrated by the lack of copy-and-paste on the iPhone, so hopefully Apple will include this in their next firmware.
