George Hotz Posts New iPhone Unlock For New Firmware Versions

After a period of inactivity in developing a Software unlock because of who cares why, George Hotz has come through once again posting a full Software unlock for newly purchased iPhones running that damn Bootloader 4.6 while the DevTeam is still throwing a hissy fit at Nate True for forcing them to release their Jailbreak method for 1.1.3

Side stepping any drama (another week we’ll probably be reporting this same story except George Hotz’s name might be replaced with someone else’s, we’ll be sure to copy and paste) the announcement with the nitty gritty details are over at iPhone JTAG.

The instructions themselves come from George Hotz:

1. Download the gunlock and the secpack files from http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/ or the blog. grin Users can find the 4.02.13 files from http://george.zjlotto.com/index.php/baseband/.
2. Downgrade your phone to 1.0.2. See all the great tutorials online to do this. Your baseband won’t be downgraded, this is normal. This will probably work on other versions too, but 1.0.2 doesn’t lose WiFi access.
3. Kill CommCenter and run “gunlock secpack ICE04.02.13_G.fls”
4. Reload CommCenter. For some reason my phone was in brick mode. Use the elite team bricktool to get out.
5. Enjoy your 1.1.2 OTB unlocked iPh

one

Have fun unlocking and remember to take out your frustration with something that does not involve harmful objects or addictive substances.
