Check Prices With Your Cellphone

Huron PM, which designs, engineers and installs symbology-driven, middleware-based integration control systems for industrial and project applications, has launched Barcle.com, a new pricing tool for shoppers.

Barcle is a free, mobile comparison-shopping service designed for use on web-enabled mobile handheld devices by shoppers in store. Barcle’s mission is to empower mobile consumers to quickly and easily compare and buy anything, sold by virtually anyone, anywhere.

Barcle enables a consumer to walk up to a product in a store and instantly be told whether the price it is being sold for is the lowest available. If it isn’t, the shopper can buy it right away from the lowest-priced store, directly from their mobile’s web application with a single press of a button.

Partner companies include Bestbuy.com, Target, Kmart.com, eBay.com, Overstock.com, Macy’s, Circuit City, Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Panasonic, KB Toys, Office Max, and Barnes and Noble. Shoppers can search the Internet for best prices, coupons, rebates, and pertinent product information from their web- enabled mobile handheld device, using the product name, category or the UPC. Barcle currently has a searchable database of over 10 million UPC/SKUs/ISBNs. A desktop version of the tool is also available at the Barcle website.
